S 13th St & W Oklahoma Ave BID Welcomes Positive Developments to the Area
The S 13th St & W Oklahoma Ave BID (BID #50) has been making a lot of positive progress in their first active year as a Business Improvement District. The Gateway to Milwaukee has been working with a dedicated group of area business owners to bring more opportunity and success to this already burgeoning commercial corridor.
Imagen Salon has been awarded a facade grant from the Department of City Development to make improvements to the outside of their shop. Their business is only a few feet away from Bombay Sweets, another grant recipient. Bombay Sweets was approved not only for a facade grant, but also for a signage grant.
If you would like more information regarding either the facade or signage grants or if your business is interested in applying for a grant, please visit this website: http://city.milwaukee.gov/Facade#.Vh1e-_lViko or contact Natanael Martinez at Natanael.Martinez@milwaukee.gov.
We are also proud to announce that new, high-quality trash receptacles were installed throughout the area on Thursday, October 8. With the addition of these new receptacles, a recent pavement upgrade on S 13th St, the creation of the new BID #50 Security System Grant Program, and the various City of Milwaukee facade grants, we are quickly seeing the positive impact that this newly formed BID is having on the commercial success and corridor revitalization of the community!
