Aviator Restaurant Wins Award for Best Tasting Food at 2018 Taste of the Gateway
It was with great pride that Chef Marco Espinosa accepted the Gateway to Milwaukee’s Flying Fork Award for best tasting sample at the 2018 Taste of the Gateway. Chef Espinosa served up special appetizers, his signature ribs and dessert parfaits of strawberry and tiramisu at this year’s event. Having worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for years, Espinosa holds a passion and dedication to food and hospitality that is undeniable. There is nothing he enjoys more than delighting guests with his culinary creations, whether it be for The Taste of the Gateway, at the Aviator Restaurant or for the hundreds of banquets, weddings and business events he and his skilled team prepare every year.
After showcasing some of their most enticing specialties at this year’s Taste of the Gateway event to hundreds of attendees, it’s now official – the secret’s out on this south side gem. Located in the newly renovated Best Western Plus Milwaukee Airport Hotel on S Howell Ave, the Aviator is open 7 days a week and offers an all-you-can-eat Friday Night Fish Fry – that includes your choice of fish, potato, and a vast array of options to choose from at the salad bar as well as desserts to satisfy that sweet tooth. In addition to Friday’s classic Milwaukee Fish Fry, their weekend offerings continue with Saturday’s all-you-can-eat chicken and award-winning signature rib dinners. And if that wasn’t enough, just this September, the restaurant began serving every Sunday what is quickly becoming one of the best all-you-can-eat Champagne Brunch offerings in the City. Previously reserved for annual holidays and special events, their new weekly Sunday Brunch offers many of your favorite breakfast items, such as a custom omelet station, pancake and waffle station, savory chef-carved prime rib, hot ham, fresh fruit parfaits, as well as a number of other great options.
Along with the adjacent hotel, The Aviator Sports Bar & Grill has undergone a complete floor to ceiling renovation. You’ll notice from the moment you walk in a revived color scheme, refreshed wood accents, and new flooring and upholstery. Guests have their choice of two unique dining areas; a casual sports bar atmosphere, as well as a more upscale dining area where you will enjoy views of Mitchell International Airport and a centralized fireplace, perfect on those cooler autumn evenings.
Their entire hotel renovation is nearly complete with all new décor including beds, bedding, furniture carpeting, drapery, and bathroom remodels in every room. The hotel offers 139 rooms, some being executive suites and whirlpool suites, with many facing the warm and inviting atrium on two levels.
The hotel boasts one of the largest swimming pool areas in Southeast Wisconsin, set in a full sky-lit arched glass enclosed atrium filled with live trees, tropical plants and flowers. Even on the coldest of days, you will feel as if you are in a warm tropical destination.
Plan your next party or even a wedding ceremony right in the atrium for that destination event feel without even leaving Wisconsin. The Best Western also offers other meeting and banquet rooms and a theater room available for meetings, weddings, parties and business events from a small group meeting to a party of over 250.
Prices for meals from Friday through Sunday range from $14 to $19 – all you can eat. Offering a FREE breakfast buffet for Hotel guests.
