Gateway to Milwaukee

Another Busy Day at the ICSC conference

25th May 2010

More traffic came to The Gateway’s booth and we also made more visits to booths of developers and retailers to introduce attendees to The Gateway To Milwaukee and our aerotropolis development.  The same feedback as yesterday occurred with most people seeing the attractiveness of making a transportation hub that is efficient, offers great accessibilty and convenience, plus will need some new retail developments and businesses.

One example were father/son Tom (both of them) Eilers from Glenn Ellyn, IL.  They own shopping centers in greater Chicago and are looking to expand north to Wisconsin and said that they would be staying in touch with our aerotropolis development and beginning to explore the area.

We also have had discussions with two firms who create and install water fountains and falls.  Milwaukee’s Water Council and the Greater Milwaukee Committee have talked about having a water fountain at the Airport as a welcoming feature to Milwaukee, which is beginning to focus on freshwater technology and science.

We have a lot to sell and need to keep marketing The Gateway’s aerotropolis area as well as the southeast Wisconsin region as a growth area that is merging wtih greater Chicago.
